We've been doing really well with our Fourth Grade Recorder program this year. The students are all playing with a beautiful sound and strong fingers. They are also reading the notes on the lines and spaces of the treble staff. Here is an interactive recorder fingering chart that is worth it's weight in gold. It is by Music K-8 Magazine (Plank Road Publishing) and it is very helpful! Happy recorder playing!!

The Instruments of the Orchestra
It's here! It's here! The Instruments of the Orchestra Unit has begun! Last week, we had an introduction to the orchestra and reviewed some important vocabulary words - Orchestra, Conductor, Baton. We also talked about and the four families of orchestral instruments.
This week we dove right into the woodwind family and learned more about keys and reeds as well as the correlation of size and pitch of instruments. There are some wonderful videos and games that we'd like to share. Keep checking the blog to visit them.
Looking forward to a Brass-y week ahead!
